INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
TrinamiX, Aug 2023 - Nov 2023
Onsite Intern - Laser Induced Speckle Identification
Worked on making a machine learning program from laser reflections off of different surfaces. The application was aided by fractal dimension calculations to classify different surfaces, and by fine-tuning the model and the fractal dimension calculator with different box sizes, classifications of different materials through lasers was possible. Using AI, the application was able to accurately distinguish different surface types based on their roughness, a capability that significantly influences various fields, such as robotics, material science, and geospatial analysis.
ColorTokens, Jun 2022 - Aug 2022
Onsite Intern - Security Engineer
Engaged in the research and development of Linux security, with a focus on kernel and web-based security. Worked on securing vital services such as Apache2, NginX, and MySQL. The role entailed identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective security measures. Additionally, played a key role in creating comprehensive documentation to ensure robust system security. Contributed to the development of innovative security strategies, reinforcing the company's defense against evolving cyber threats.
Del Norte High School (DNHS) Partnership With Qualcomm, May 2023
Tech Space established a pioneering partnership with Qualcomm in the field of Artificial Intelligence, becoming the first high school group to utilize and develop with the Qualcomm Innovators Development Kit (QIDK). This unique collaboration provided Tech Space with access to advanced AI tools and resources, enabling them to undertake complex projects that were previously not feasible at the high school level. Working with the QIDK, Tech Space not only applied AI concepts in practical scenarios but also contributed to the evolution of new technological solutions in waste recycling.
STEM
FIRST Tech Challenge, Jun 2019 - Present
Captain and Programming Lead, 15171 (Jun 2023 - Present)
Manages one of the top ranking teams (second place) in California: 15171 Scorpio, and works closely with other leads and members to develop understanding and ensure success in upcoming competitions. Schedules events and outreach functions to promote awareness and educate underprivileged students globally, designs and custom manufactures parts, and is also the head of the programming department for the competitions with robots. Specializes in Artificial Intelligence, Camera Vision, and object detection.
Programming Lead, 15171 (Jun 2019 - Present)
Manages the programming and hardware interfaces for team 15171 Scorpio. Works on programming the robot for different scenarios on the field and making sure the robot can function autonomously with a high success rate in the challenges presented by FIRST. Specializes in Artificial Intelligence implementation and Camera Vision usage for object detection.
CyberPatriot: CyberAegis, Jun 2019 - Present
CyberPatriot is the largest United States competition for CyberSecurity, and one of the largest competitions worldwide. The competition takes teams of 6 through rigorous challenges, and only a select few teams, based on stringent criteria, advance to the national finals (12 out of 1,000).
Two time national finalist and national champion. Works on Linux, Windows, and Network security with specialization in Linux/Windows. Works with different teams of 6 to compete in the CyberPatriot competition held by the AFA, and competes on different machines to solve and patch problems and security threats. Has been in top 1% of teams for 6 years.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Del Norte High School (DNHS) Tech Space
Club President (Dec 2022 - Present)
Founder and President of New Technology and Innovations organization called DNHS Tech Space. Club educates students about new technologies and how to use them, since many schools, including DNHS, cannot always keep up with all the new innovations without a lot of work. Tech Space teaches other kids, allows kids to socialize, and builds connections with presenting industry leaders.
Del Norte High School (DNHS) Aerospace and Rocketry
Club President (Jun 2023 - Present)
Treasurer (Dec 2022 - Jun 2023)
EDUCATION
Cambridge Centre for International Research, Jun 2023 - Oct 2023
At the Cambridge Centre for International Research, the focus was on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with a special emphasis on Natural Language Processing. The key project undertaken involved the development of a sophisticated Hindi-English code-switched translation system. This endeavor required an in-depth understanding of the grammatical structures and vocabularies of both languages, as well as the complex nuances of code-switching. Advanced machine learning techniques were employed to enhance the accuracy and fluency of translations between these linguistically diverse languages, facilitating improved communication in multilingual contexts, and the results were documented in a paper.
Horizon Academic, Jun 2023 - Sep 2023
At Horizon Academic, the concentration was on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, specifically in Camera Vision and object recognition. A significant project was the creation of an image recognition system designed for identifying and classifying different types of plastic bottles. This project addressed key environmental concerns associated with plastic waste. Leveraging state-of-the-art camera vision technologies and sophisticated machine learning algorithms, the system was developed to accurately recognize and categorize various plastic bottle forms. This advancement aids in more effective waste management and recycling efforts, and the findings and methodologies are thoroughly documented in a paper.
